Property Secretary
(Stone, Nr Aylesbury)

The organisation
BWK Solicitors is a modern, friendly and fast-growing law firm located in Buckinghamshire.

The role
As a property secretary you will support highly experienced Solicitor who deals with a broad caseload of Residential and Commercial Property matters. The caseload will include; Sales and purchases of freehold and leasehold properties, Re-mortgages, Lease extensions and Transfers of equity.  Duties will be varied and will include preparing legal documents, answering and handling queries over the phone,  administration of matters using our case management system.

The ideal candidate must be highly organised, have previously worked in a similar role, be a team player and an excellent communicator.

Experience, skills and attributes

  • A legal secretary with experience of supporting a Property Lawyer
  • Touch, audio and digital dictation typing (preferably 60 WPM)
  • Production of letters and legal documents
  • Handling incoming telephone queries
  • General office duties such as photocopying, filing, scanning
  • Experience in submitting Land Registry applications would be desirable but training can be provided
  • Handling post-exchange administration with the support of the acting Solicitor desirable but again, training can be provided
  • Reception support as required
  • Supporting other property lawyers within the team if required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • IT literacy – Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skill
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced and fun environment

Salary
Salary is competitive and negotiable dependent on experience

Candidates will need to live in or be able to commute easily to Stone (just outside Aylesbury), Buckinghamshire.

Property Lawyer / Property Conveyancer
(Chalfont St Giles or Stone, Nr Aylesbury)

We are looking for an ambitious and dedicated lawyer with 3-5 years’ PQE to join our busy and expanding Property Department.

The successful candidate will be ambitious and technically competent in all areas of residential property transactions including:

  • Sale and purchase of freehold property
  • Sale and purchase of leasehold property
  • Re-mortgages
  • Transfers of Equity
  • Purchase of newbuilds
  • Grants of Lease Extensions
  • Land sales and purchases
  • Easements
  • Lease extensions
  • Auction sales and purchases
  • Transfers of part

Skills and attributes

  • Confident communicator
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to use initiative
  • A friendly, positive and proactive approach
  • IT skills including Outlook, Word & Excel, case management experience helpful
  • Approachable
  • Team player
